Birthday nail-art - Magical Minnie

When I applied Essie Sure Shot last Thursday, I realised it was the perfect base to make a tribute nail-art to Minnie in her 20th-anniversary costume.

For this, I took out my magic wand, A-England Avalon, one of my top-polishes of all times, China Glaze Passion for the gold, some fauxnad plates and gold glitter.

My hands and nails suffered a bit during two days because of the bad weather, please excuse my dry fingers. So, after my two coats of Sure Shot, I sponged Avalon in a random gradient, stamped stars and moons with CG Passion, applied one coat of Seche Vite and sprinkled some gold loose glitter on top.

(I'm hiding my thumb because it got ripped off during the week-end, 5mm onto the nail plate, it's not a pretty sight)

As you can see, the merchandising is a bit different from the costume, no purple gradient, a dress that's more coral than fuchsia, the belt is turquoise instead of blue/purple and less intricate design on the dress, but the real costume inspired me more!! If you like Disney-inspired manicures, my friend Marie published one yesterday (great minds meet) about Rapunzel.

After this very flashy and glittery nail-art, I'm starting a collection review tomorrow that is all soft and tender.. wanna venture a guess?

Is this magic or what??

Just a quick word to say I'm back, we had a fantabulous time in Disneyland, and I'll be telling you all about it soon. As you can see, the Magic was there, it was the first time of my life I saw a double rainbow!!

Essie Sure Shot

Hi girls! Remember me, the nail-blogger who used to post everyday? I really feel bad, my current life is filled with work, issues in my private life and sickness. Nothing major but little things that steal all my time. To finish the review of Essie Resort Collection for 2012, I have to show you a fuchsia/magenta polish, this didn't help: you know how hard those are to photograph for my camera, and I swear I've taken hundreds of pictures without ever managing to capture its true beauty.

In the bottle, you can see the blue undertone and the silver shimmer. On the nails, after an easy application and two coats, it looks like raspberry candy.

Sorry for the zombie hands on the last pics, but it was the only way to come closer to the true colour. No surprise here, I love this color (you can see how the bottle is already well emptied)! It could be my favourite from the collection, but as often, I'm even more in love with the one I didn't expect to like, the blue No More Film!! But all four of them are really pretty, with very easy application and super glossy finish.
I'm leaving tomorrow morning to go celebrate my birthday in Mickey Heaven, so no post before Sunday I'm afraid, but then I'll have plenty of things to tell you!!
