Nailstorming - Licorne, Paillettes et Monde Merveilleux

Bonjour! Vous ne pensiez tout de même pas qu'avec un thème pareil, j'allais louper le Nailstorming du jour??! Et bien figurez-vous qu'au final, j'ai eu du mal à trouver quoi mettre sur mes ongles, parce que des  nail-arts à base de licorne et de paillettes, j'en ai déjà fait un paquet! J'aurais pu vous refaire une "licorne du mois" (enfin, du mois, façon de parler ;) ) mais je n'en avais pas envie, je voulais quelque chose de différent.

Je suis partie de l'idée de l'arc-en-ciel pour sortir mes vernis holo dits "linéaires", OMG, Strap on your Moonboots, QT, LOL et Galactic Gray. Ensuite, j'ai fait un dégradé de vernis holo pailleté avec Sexagon, Kaleidoscope Him Out, How About a Tumble, Djinn in a Bottle (le seul qui ne soit pas China Glaze) et Let's Do It in 3D. Enfin, j'ai stampé des licornes avec les métalliques de Kiko en "ton sur ton". Evidemment, avec la lumière de merde qu'on a aujourd’hui, ça ne rend pas aussi bien que ça devrait en photo, mais j'avoue être assez fan du résultat!!

Voilà, maintenant je peux aller voir les réalisations des copines (je ne voulais pas le faire avant pour ne pas parasiter mes idées après avoir vu ce que les autres avaient fait), et on se retrouve plus tard pour un autre épisode en direct du Pays des Merveilles...

October is Pink! China Glaze Don't be a Square

After showing you QT on Monday, here's the glittery counterpart, Don't Be a Square from the Kaleidoscope collection. To show you how close those two polishes are, I kept QT on my middle finger and applied two coats of DBaS on pointer and ring.

Remember when I told you that I liked doing half-and-half manicure with linear and glitter holo? Well, I dug out some old pictures (about a year ago) with QT and Don't be a Square, separated by a silver line with a pink stone on top. As you can see, a year ago, I didn't know that cuticles could cleaned and ignored everything about camera settings with flash pictures!!!

 

October is Pink! China Glaze how about a tumble?

Here is the glittery counterpart to yesterday's Nfu Oh, China Glaze How About a Tumble? (seriously, what's that for a name??). It's part of the Kaleidoscope collection, and some of the polishes (not all, but a good part), are exact "scattered holo" cousins to the OMG collection, which  is what makes me say that Nfu Oh 63 is a dupe of BFF. I love doing half and half manicures with linear and scattered holo of the same colour (I have an old pic for those particular colours, but it's so bad and blurry that I don't dare showing it to you). 

So this is How About a Tumble in two coats.

China Glaze Let's Do It in 3D

The one good thing about shorter nails is that it allows you to wear darker and bolder colours. So on the day I filed my nails down, I took out China Glaze Let's Do It in 3D to cheer me up. Of course, it had to be a day without sun, we're getting a LOT of those this summer, so I had to resort to flash to show you the holo effect. It's another one from the Kaleidoscope collection, the effect is called "scattered holo", meaning it's made of glitter particles and is not as much "in your face" as the OMG collection (I have to show you the ones I have soon). I love this polish because it's dark grey, and it's of the colours you find only in the Kaleidoscope collection, there's no equivalent in the OMGs. This is two coats, no top-coat.

China Glaze Kaleidoscope Him Out

Oh, we finally had a sunny day... I'm not keen on heat, but still, a complete month of July with rain and low temps, that was quite depressing. Hopefully August will be better, cannot really be worse anyway! So, sunshine means... holo!! Today's pick is China Glaze Kaleidoscipe Him Out. Not the most in your face holo ever, but I wanted a blue one to match my outfit, and it's the only one I have. You see it here with three coats, no top-coat.

Application is easy, and contrarily to some stronger holos like the OMG collection or the Nfu Oh ones, there's no problem of holes or polish dragging when you pass over the same spot. The Kaleidoscope collection is pretty much sold out, but you can still find some of them here and there on Ebay for reasonable prices (I paid 10$ for this one with shipping costs). I have a couple of others from the same collection, as well as some OMGs and Nfu Ohs, they will show up when the sun comes out again!
