China Glaze Ghoulish Glow

As you might have seen if you've looked at upcoming collections, China Glaze will release a Halloween collection called Haunting, composed of four new shades and two re-releases, the black crackle Black Mesh and the top-coat Ghoulish Glow. Since I had a bottle of this weird polish in my stash, I decided to show it to you. It was quite an ordeal as you can imagine, taking pictures of a glow-in-the-dark polish is not easy, and I have to thank Minnie for her talent as a photographer!

Ghoulish Glow is a very very liquid top-coat, packed with phosphorescent particles, so you need to shake it a lot before applying it, otherwise all the particles say at the bottom. I first took a couple of pictures showing one nail with only white polish and two nails with white polish and a coat of Ghoulish Glow, to show you that it gives a yellow tint to your nails. I guess it wouldn't show on a dark polish, but on white, it makes quite a difference.

And here are the pictures in the dark, click to see them in big. Excuse the blurriness, it's close to impossible to have non-blurry shots in the deep dark, even with a tripod.

The effect is much more visible in real life of course and it lasts as long as your nails gets regular exposure to light: when you go to bed, your nails will glow, but not when you wake up. I remember I had little toys like this when I was a kid!

Si vous avez jeté un oeil aux collections à venir, vous aurez vu les annonces pour la collection Halloween 2011 de China Glaze, Haunting, qui comprend quatre nouvelles teintes et deux ré-éditions, le crackle noir Black Mesh et le top-coat Ghoulish Glow. Puisque je possède un flacon de cet étrange vernis, j'ai décidé de vous le présenter. Ca n'a pas été simple, vous imaginez le défi de prendre en photo un vernis phosphorescent, je n'y serais jamais arrivé sans Minnie, alors chapeau bas la photographe!!

Ghoulish Glow  est un top-coat très très liquide, rempli de particules phosphorescentes, il faut bien le secouer avant de l'appliquer sinon tout reste au fond. J'ai d'abord pris des photos en lumière normale avec le majeur simplement en blanc et l'index et l'annulaire avec une couche de Ghoulish Glow pour vous montrer que le top-coat donne une teinte jaunâtre. Sur un vernis foncé, ça ne se voit pas, mais sur du clair, il y a vraiment une différence.

Et voilà les photos dans le noir, cliquez pour les voir en grand. Désolée qu'elles soient floues, mais même avec un trépied, c'est vraiment très très dur de prendre des photos nettes dans l'obscurité.

L'effet est beaucoup plus visible en vrai bien sûr, et il dure tant que vos ongles sont exposés régulièrement à la lumière: vous irez au lit avec des ongles phosphorescents, mais au réveil, plus rien! Ca me rappelle les jouets que j'avais quand j'étais petite!!
