OPI Go Goth! Halloween 2010 set

Hi everyone! Sorry for the absence, I still have no computer and Minnie's on holidays (just like me, it feels so good to sleep in!!) so it's normal she wants to spend time chatting with faraway friends or playing on Farmville and I have to do without computer access. We also did a lot of work around the flat, in-depth tidying of the cupboards, taking away the Christmas decorations and cleaning, so that everything is neat before we leave for London.

I've prepared some swatches for when I'm away (even if a couple of them were done on my computer so I can't access the pics now :( ), so you'll have some reading when I'm gone, including some nice surprises!

For today, I have the OPI Go Goth Collection for Halloween 2010 that I promised you long ago (I loaded the pics in my draft folder more than three weeks ago!).

This collection has a big sentimental value for me because the first time I bought it, it was to offer to my sweetie Svetlana when she came to France in September 2010. And when she used it up, I offered her the full size bottles (Sanguine and Nevermore are actually re-edition of Royal Rajah Ruby and OPI Ink, only Unripened was released as such in full sized bottles).

All swatches are in two coats without top-coat, except when stated otherwise.

Sanguine, the classic vampy red, that lights up on direct light but keeps a mysterious glowy dark quality in normal lightning.

Nevermore. While with a flash it clearly shows its blue side, you can click on the other pics to see the duochrome in the glitter that gows from dark blue to purple. Really pretty!!

Unripened. As with Nevermore, the flash shows the teal glitter but if you click on the other pics, you might be able to see the elusive and hard to photograph duochrome shimmer.

Finally, Obscurity, the matte black polish. I messed up the application on the middle finger and had to apply a second coat, but I kept it on purpose to show you the effect of matte polishes if you apply to many coats: the more coats, the satiner and less matte the finish.

All in all, I adore this set: I wouldn't really have any use for a full bottle of the red or blue, and Unripened is sold at crazy prices on Ebay so the set is just perfect solution to dress my hands in Gothic fashion from time to time!!

Désolée pour l'absence, je n'ai toujours pas d'ordinateur et comme Minnie est aussi en vacances (ça fait trop du bien de pouvoir dooormir!!), elle profite de son pc pour papoter avec des amis qui sont loin et jouer à Farmville, et elle a bien raison, mais ça veut dire que je ne peux pas avoir accès au blog très souvent. Nous avons aussi passé pas mal de temps à faire du rangement dans l'appart, à enlever les décos de Noël, à trier les placards, à faire le ménage... pour que tout soit parfait pour quand nous partons à Londres!!

J'ai préparé des swatches pour que vous ayez de la lecture pendant mon absence (même si certains sont restés coincés sur mon pc :( ). Aujourd'hui je vous montre la collection Go Goth d'OPI pour Halloween 2010, ça fait un bail que je vous l'ai promise (j'ai chargé les photos dans mon dossier de brouillons il y a plus de trois semaines!!)

Cette collection a une grande valeur sentimentale pour moi vu que la première fois que je l'ai achetée, c'était pour offrir à ma chérie Svetlana quand elle est venue en France en septembre 2010. Et quand elle l'a eue finie, je lui ai offert les versions grands flacons (Sanguine et Nevermore sont en fait des dupes de Royal Rajah Ruby et Ink, il n'y a qu'Unripened qui soit unique à la collection).

Sanguine, le rouge noir classique qui s'allume en lumière directe mais reste très mystérieux à l'ombre.

Nevermore: au flash, on voit clairement son côté bleu, mais si vous cliquez sur les photos, vous pourrez voir le duochrome bleu-violet. Il est superbe!!

Unripened: comme pour Nevermore, le flash montre les reflets bleu canard, mais si vous cliquez les photos pour les voir en grand, vous pourrez apercevoir les autres couleurs, bien qu'elles soient très subtiles et difficiles à saisir en photo.

Et enfin, Obscurity, le noir mat. J'ai un peu merdé l'application sur le majeur et j'ai dû mettre une deuxième couche, mais je l'ai gardé sur la photo pour vous montrer ce qui arrive quand on met trop de couches avec un vernis mat: plus il y a de couches, plus le fini est satiné et non mat.

Je suis fan de ce set: même si le rouge et le bleu sont beaux, je n'en aurais pas l'usage en grand flacon, et vu les prix du Unripened sur Ebay, je préfère l'utiliser avec parcimonie dans le petit flacon, pour pouvoir habiller mes ongles en goth de temps en temps!
